Caedmon was built in 1973 by Robb Caledon Shipbuilders, Dundee, Scotland, for Sealink Isle of Wight services from Portsmouth to Fishbourne. She was transferred to the Lymington-Yarmouth route in 1983, and passed to Wightlink in 1990.

Cenwulf was built in 1973 by Robb Caledon Shipbuilders, Dundee, Scotland, for Sealink Isle of Wight services from Lymington to Yarmouth. She passed to Wightlink in 1990.
