Tuesday 9th August 2005: Ålesund, Norway

After a further night "cruising to nowhere" off the Norwegian coast, QE2 berthed at Ålesund at 8:00am. QE2 left Ålesund at 18:00hrs and proceeded north to Trondheim. Ålesund was destroyed by fire in 1904, and was rebuilt in Art Nouveau style within a few years. Many attractive buildings from this period remain in the old town.
