This page is devoted to the CGT (Compagnie Générale Transatlantique) liner Normandie (2), built in 1935. In 1941 she was taken over by US Navy and renamed USS Lafayette, but was burnt out and capsized in New York in 1942. Although refloated in 1943, she was laid up, and scrapped in 1946.

Normandie (2) was built in 1935. In 1941 she was taken over by US Navy and renamed USS Lafayette, but was burnt out and capsized in New York in 1942. Although refloated in 1943, she was laid up, and scrapped in 1946.
