Minoan Lines Fleet List

Part 2: New Ships Built From 1995

Aretousa (2)
(Minoan Lines: 1995-2001)

Aretousa (2) was the first purpose-built ship acquired by Minoan Lines. Whilst not as fast as later newbuilds, she is still capable of 25.8 knots. She can carry 1500 passengers and 1000 cars, and was delivered from her builders in Norway in 1995. She is 28417 grt. In 2001 she was sold to CMN as the Girolata.

Aretousa has now received the Minoan Lines' "High Speed" logo, as shown in the official Minoan Lines shown below (English/Greek bilingual card).

Ikarus
Ikarus Palace
(Minoan Lines: 1997- )

Ikarus and Pasiphae were two fast conventional ferries of 30000 grt, delivered in 1998 to Minoan Lines. They have an engine output of 60.000 HP, which allows a service speed of 27 knots. This allows them to cover the Patras - Ancona route in only 19 hours, and the Patras - Venice route in 23 hours. The ships were later renamed Ikarus Palace and Pasiphae Palace.
