postcards of the fleet

Scandi line were formed as a private Norwegian company to operate a service between Sandefjord (Norway) and Stromstad (Sweden). The first two ships, in service with Scandi by 1988, were
Bohus
and
Bohus II
. The company was later owned by Larvik Line, and cards were issued as Larvik/Scandi Line, although the ships' livery was unchanged. Larvik/Scandi merged with Color Line in 1996, but the Scandi Line operation remained separate until 1999 when ships received Color Scandi Line, and then Color Line, livery.

Scandi Line Fleet List
Bohus (1)
The original Scandi Line
Bohus
, had been built as
Emsland
in 1977. She appeared in a 1989 ferry directory as
Bohus
, but operated as
St Julien
from Weymouth that summer. She had been renamed
Ostersjon
by 1990. I would welcome any further details of her links with Scandi Line, and particularly details of any postcards issued. She is listed in 2001 as owned by Spanish operator ISCOMAR, named
Nura Nova.
Amongst other operators, she was at one time the
Elba Nova
of
Corsica Ferries
.

Terje Vigen
. Other operators followed, until sale to Scandi Line in 1992. She 2000 was replaced by the chartered
Color Viking
. In February 2003 she was sold to Saga Line and renamed
Sagafjord
for a service Moss-Skagen. Although repainted in Saga Line colours, the service did not start in 2003.
The service eventually started in May 2004, but closed at the end of the summer, with
Sagafjord
being laid up in Horten.
