71: Midnatsol (3) TFDS: 1982-2005
Lyngen (2) TFDS: 2005-2007

Midnatsol was built for TFDS in 1982, and ran on the Hurtigruten until 2003 when she was laid up as Midnatsol II to release the name for the new Midnatsol (4). In 2005 she was renamed Lyngen (2) and is due to cruise in Greenland in the summer, and act as relief Hurtigrute in the winter allowing larger newer ships to cruise in warmer climes. It was announced in September 2007 that Lyngen had been sold to Lindblad Expeditions.

72: Narvik
ODS/OVDS: 1982-2006

Narvik was built in 1982 by Trondhjems MV, Aker Trondelag, Trondheim, for ODS (Ofotens Dampskipsselskap), but has operated with OVDS (Ofotens & Vesterålens Dampskipsselskap) since the merger of the two companies in 1988. As built in 1988, she had an open cargo deck aft. This was replaced with additional accommodation in 1988, rather spoiling her appearance. She originally had 166 berths only, increased to 306 after rebuilding, and tonnage increased from 4072gt to 6257gt. Narvik was sold in 2006.
