Transmanche Ferries was formed in 2001 by Conseil General de Seine Maritime, Dieppe, to reintroduce a year-round conventional ferry service from Deppe. Chartered tonnage was used initially, but two purpose-built ro-pax ferries entered service in 2006. Transmanche Ferries is now owned by Louis Dreyfus Armateurs who also run

Postcards
Sardinia Vera
was laid down as
Stena Atlantica,
but was launched as
Marine Atlantica
for Canadian service in 1975
.
In 1986 she was sold to Corsica Ferries and was renamed
Corsica Vera
, but was transferred to Sardinian services the following year, and renamed
Sardinia Vera.
In 2001 she began to operate under charter between Newhaven and Dieppe for Transmanche Ferries. She is a sistership to Sardinia Ferries
Corsica Marina II
, and also Moby Lines'
Moby Vincent
and COMANAV's
Al Mansour
. She became a spare vessel in 2001 with the arrival of the two
Mega Express
sisters, and was chartered to Transmanche Ferries to open their new all-year service beween Newhaven and Dieppe. She makes two return trips each weekday (only one at weekends).
This is the first official postcard issued.

Dieppe
was built in 1981 by Fartygsentreprenader Ab, Uddevalla for
TT-Saga Linjen
services Helsingborg/Malmö/Trelleborg-Travemünde. In 1988 she was sold to
CMN
and entered service with them as the
Girolata
in 1989 between Marseille-Bastia. In 1993 she was chartered back to
TT-Line
, reverting to previous name
Saga Star
.
TT-Line
purchased her in 1997. In 2002 she was sold to Transmanche Ferries and entered service between Newhaven-Dieppe as the
Dieppe
.

Côte D'Albâtre
Côte D'Albâtre
was built in 2005 by De Hijos De J, Barreras De Vigo, Spain. She is 142.4 metres long and weisghs 12000 gross tons (2800 net). Wärtsilä 8L46C diesels of a total power of 16800 kW give a speed of 22 knots. She carries 600 passengers and has 750 lane metres for freight. Her sistership
Seven Sisters
is due to enter service in March 2006.
