Rennaissance Eight (1992- )
Renaissance Cruises built eight similar small luxury cruise ships between 1989 and 1992. The first four were built by Cantirere Navale Ferrari in La Spezia and were 88.3m long, and 4077grt. They carried 100 passengers in 50 cabins, with 72 crew. The second four were built by Nuovi Cantire Apuania at Marina di Carrara, and were 90.6m long and 4200grt. They carried 114 passengers in 57 cabins with 72 crew.

Aegean I
The
Aegean I
is owned by Dolphin Hellas Cruises, Piraeus, but has operated on various charters to
Epirotiki
,
Renaissance Cruises
and
Golden Sun Cruises
. She was built in 1973 as the Zim ro-ro ferry
Narcis
, but was bought by Dolphin Hellas cruises in 1986, and renamed
Aegean Dolphin
after conversion to a cruise ship in 1988. In 1995 she was listed as operating for
Epirotiki
. She was renamed
Aegean I
in whilst on charter to
Renaissance Cruises
in 1996. She has operated for
Golden Sun Cruises
on Mediterranean cruises since 1997/8, but is still owned by Dolphin Hellas. A complete postcard history of this ship is available

On the collapse of Renaissance on 25th September 2001, six of the sisters (all except
R Three
and
R Four
in the Pacific) were moved to Gibratar. Five of them were present in the postcards below. By mid-December 2001, all six had been moved on to Marseille. Card published by Estoril Ltd, Gibraltar (serial 69J).

In 2003,

were chartered by a new company Oceania Cruises, in which the former Renaissance Vice President, Frank Del Rio, had involvement. They were named
Regatta

Insignia
, although they later swapped names so that
R One
is now
Insignia

R Two
is
Regatta
.
R Five
is due to join them as
Nautica
in May 2005.
