Le Havre to Trouville & Honfleur
Le Français was (probably) the first paddle steamer to regularly
serve Trouville from Le Havre. She was built in 1935 at Chantier Normand (Le
Havre) and ran until 1875 when replaced by the Hirondelle. She was
36.5m long and carried 300/400 passengers

Le Français was joined a year later by a slightly larger paddle
steamer
Le Courrier. She was again built at Chantier Normand (Le
Havre) and ran until 1866 when replaced by the
François Ier.
She was 40.6m long and carried 350/400 passengers

Paddle steamer
Cygne was built at Chantier Normand (Le Havre) in 1850 and ran until 1880 on
the routes to Trouville and Rouen. Sold for further use, she ran between Jersey and Carteret
until1907. She was 42.3m long and carried 400 passengers

Paddle steamer
Eclair was built at Chantier Normand (Le Havre) in 1856 and ran until 1879 on
the routes to Trouville and Honfleur after which she then ran to Rouen. She
was 40.6 m long and carried 450 passengers

François Ier
was built at Chantier Normand (Le
Havre) in 1866 and ran until 1911 when replaced by the
Trouville.
She was 46m long and carried 550 passengers

Hirondelle was built at Chantier Normand (Le Havre) in 1875 and ran
until 1928 on
the routes to Trouville, Honfleur and Caen. She was 44 m long and carried 550 passengers.

Paddle steamer
Rapide was built at Chantier Normand (Le Havre) in 1881 and ran
until 1938 on
the routes to Trouville and Honfleur. She was 45.7 m long and carried 600 passengers.

1882.

Paddle steamer Gazelle was built at Chantier Normand (Le Havre) in
1984. She was 46.8 m long and carried 600 passengers.

Screw steamer Augustin Normand was built at Chantier Normand (Le
Havre) in 1984. She was 48 m long and carried 450 passengers.

La Touques was built at Chantier Neiges (Le Havre) in 1901, the
last paddle steamer at Le Havre, and ran until WW2. She was wrecked near
Paramé with passengers fleeing the advance of the Wehrmacht. She was 47.6 m long and
carried 600 passengers.

Screw steamer
Trouville was built at Nantes in 1910 and ran until WW2. She
was scuttled at Brest in 1944. She was 53.5 m long.
