Page 3: Strood-Sheerness Cruise - Part 1

This page is one of a series devoted to the River Dart paddle steamer Kingswear Castle, which is now operated on the River Medway by the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society. This page shows images of Kingswear Castle taken on a six hour cruise from Strood Pier on the 26th March 2005. Kingswear Castle - Page 1 shows postcards in both River Dart and Thames & Medway service, whilst Kingswear Castle - Page 2 shows photographs in Thames and Medway service. Kingswear Castle - Page 4 shows other shipping, piers and buildings photographed on the March 26th cruise.

Following discussions with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, a new entrance to the forward saloon has been cut through the upper deck. The original entrance from the forward well deck has been blocked, and the level of this deck has been raised. Photographs of the new arrangement are shown on this link. Additional details of the changes are shown on the official Kingswear Castle 2004/2005 Refit Page.
