This page is devoted to postcards and photographs of Icelandic operator Eimskip, the first Icelandic steamship company, which is now part of the Avion group. An alphabetical list of ships shown on this page is shown below. The Table beneath gives links to complete history pages on selected individual ships. Below the table is a Fleet List in chronological order. The ships are all named after Icelandic waterfalls.

Most of the older cards were obtained from an excellent card and stamp shop, Magni R. Magnusson, in Reykjavik's main shopping street at Laugavegur 15. Well worth a visit if you are visiting Iceland.

I have been unable to obtain any details of the Eimskip fleet. I have seen an excellent company-issued history in the Reykjavik Maritime Museum, but have not found a copy for sale. If anyone could supply a fleet list, particularly of the passenger ships, I would be very grateful. Please email: simplon@simplon.co.uk
