This page is devoted to postcards and photographs of the Jydsk Faergefart A/S ferry Djursland II. Djursland II had a sistership Kalle III, and the Travemünde of Gedser-Travemünde Ruten A/S was of a very similar design.

Djursland II was built in 1974 by Schichau-Unterweser AG, Bremerhaven, Germany for Jydsk Faergefart A/S, Grenå, Denmark, for service between Grenå-Hundested. Her sistership was Kalle III, also delivered in 1974. In 1981 Djursland II was sold to DFDS and renamed Djursland (the fourth of this name). In 1984 Djursland (4) was sold on to J.Laurizen, Denmark, and in 1988 back to Grenå-Hundested Lines A/S, Grenå, Denmark.

In 1994 Djursland was sold to Lineas Fred.Olsen, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and renamed Benchijigua (3) for use on Canary Islands services between Los Cristianos-La Gomera-La Palma. In 2000 Benchijigua (3) was renamed again as Betancuria (3) for services between Las Palmas-Puerto Rosario-Arrecife. Betancuria (3) was laid up in 2001 and sold in 2002 to El Salam Shipping & Trading, Panama, with the name Sara I.

In 1994 Djursland was sold to Lineas Fred.Olsen, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and renamed Benchijigua (III) for use on Canary Islands services between Los Cristianos-La Gomera-La Palma.
