Bergen Postcards

(Fjord Line: 1993-2003)

 

The Bergen was built for Fjord Line in 1993. She is 16794 grt and carries 882 passengers, 160 cars and 40 trucks. The three official postcards below show the original colour scheme, which was very similar to other Norwegian operators Color Line and Scandi Line. From 2003 she was chartered to DFDS as the Duchess of Scandinavia.

 

 

 

 

 

This aerial picture of Hanstholm shows the Bergen at her berth. It is published by Wadmanns Forlag (serial 94268), using a photo by Aage Pedersen.

 

Following the acquisition of the Newcastle-Norway route of Color Line, Fjord Line changed their colour scheme. This rather dull official card of Bergen shows the new green livery.

Duchess of Scandinavia is being chartered by DFDS from Fjord Line to replace Admiral of Scandinavia on the Harwich-Cuxhaven route. She was previously the Bergen.
