This page is devoted to postcards and photographs of the DFDS ferry Dana Regina, which continues to serve (in 2002) with Tallink as the Vana Tallinn.

 

Dana Regina was delivered to DFDS in 1974 for the Harwich-Esbjerg route, on which she remained until 1983. She then operated on the Copenhagen-Oslo route. In 1990, Dana Regina was sold to Nordström & Thulin of Sweden for their Stockholm-Tallinn service marketed as Estline. She was renamed Nord Estonia, and the official Estline postcard is shown below. In 1992 she was chartered to Larvik Line as Thor Heyerdahl. Between 1994-6 she operated as Vana Tallinn under charter to Tallink. In 1998 she was purchased by Tallink.

Dana Regina

(DFDS: 1974-1990)

 

Dana Regina was delivered to DFDS in 1974 for the Harwich-Esbjerg route, on which she remained until 1983. She then operated on the Copenhagen-Oslo route until 1990, when she was sold to Nordström & Thulin of Sweden for their Stockholm-Tallinn.

Nord Estonia

(Estline: 1990-1994)

 

In 1990, Dana Regina was sold to Nordström & Thulin of Sweden for their Stockholm-Tallinn service marketed as Estline. She was renamed Nord Estonia, and the official Estline postcard is shown below. In 1992 she was chartered to Larvik Line as Thor Heyerdahl. Between 1994-6 she operated as VanaTallinn under charter to Tallink. In 1998 she was purchased by Tallink.

(Larvik Line: 1992)

 

In 1992 Nord Estonia was chartered to Larvik Line as Thor Heyerdahl.

Vana Tallinn

(Tallink: 1994- )

 

Vana Tallinn was built as the DFDS ferry Dana Anglia in 1974. She served on the Harwich-Esbjerg route until 1983, when she moved to the Copenhagen-Olso service. In 1990 she was sold to Nordström & Thulin of Sweden for their Stockholm-Tallinn service marketed as Estline. She was renamed Nord Estonia. In 1992 she was chartered to Larvik Line as Thor Heyerdahl. Between 1994-6 she operated as Vana Tallinn under charter to Tallink, and the official Tallink postcard is shown below. In 1998 she was purchased by Tallink.
