Solent Scene
was the
first purpose-built excursion boat built for
Blue Funnel Cruises, and was completed by
Bideford Shipbuilders in 1974. She was followed by a sister from
the same yard, the
Island Scene of 1978. M.J.Rayment
later acquired a 50% interest in the Solent Scene and
began operating her as
Wight Line Cruises, later
Solent
and Wight Line Cruises, whilst retaining the same Blue Funnel fleet colours.
Solent Scene passed to
Blue
Line Cruises
in 1998, and continues services from Poole in 2006. Solent
Scene was the largest excursion vessel base at Poole until
surpassed by her new fleet mate
Jurassic
Scene.

Torbay Belle was built as the Caledonian
MacBrayne ferry Lochmor in 1979. She was sold to Brixham
Belle Cruises (Carol & Peter Scott) who renamed her
Torbay
Belle.
Torbay
Belle
was bought by
Blue
Line Cruises
at Poole in 2009, where she will be renamed Jurassic Scene.
She became the largest excursion vessel based in Poole, previously the Solent Scene, until sold for use on
whale-watching trips in Reykjavik, Iceland in winter 2014/15.
