Mona's Queen (4) (1946-1962)

The British steamer Mona's Queen was bought by Chandris in 1962, and reappeared the following year as the Carina, carrying 220 passengers and 60 cars. In 1964 she was rebuilt again as a full cruise ship carrying 378 passengers, and was renamed Fiesta. The Mona's Queen was one of six sister ships built by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company between 1946 and 1955. The last of the six sisters, the Manxman of 1955 just about survives in a run-down condition as a bar and club. Fiesta was laid up in the mid-seventies, and was scrapped in 1981. I have not yet found a postcard of Carina, but two variations on a card of Fiesta are shown below.

No publisher is identified on this photographic card of Mona's Queen.

One of a large series of Lilywhite IOMSPCo cards with faked sea.
The same image was also used on cards published by Tuck.

A Tuck version (I.O.M.188) of the photo above with a white border. Lilywhite also issued the card with the border.
Their card is not shown because it looks identical to this (with the same I.O.M.188 serial number) but without the caption A Tuck Card in the bottom right corner.
