Kronprinsessan Ingrid
Kronprinsessan Ingrid - Christofer Polhem - Marina

This page is devoted to postcards and photographs of the Sessan Line ship Kronprinsessan Ingrid.

Kronprinsessan Ingrid was built by Frederikshavn Værft & Flydedok in 1936 for Rederi Ab Göteborg-Frederikshavns Linjen (Sessan Linjen), for service between Göteborg-Frederikshavn. She was sold in 1955 to Ångfartygs Ab Gotland, and renamed Christofer Polhem, working during the summer on routes Nynäshamn-Visby-Oskarshamn (1955-1962) and Nynäshamn-Visby-Västervik (1963).

Christofer Polhem was sold in 1963 to Expresslinjen Ab, Stockholm (Stockholm Rederi Ab Svea) and renamed Marina. In 1964 and 1965 she sailed between Gräddö and Mariehamn. From 1966 to 1969 she sailed between Stockholm and Mariehamn. On August 19th 1969, Marina was involved in a collision with the German freighter Lucy Essberger. She was laid up immediately until sold to Losinjska Plovidba OOUR Brodarstvo, Rijeka in November 1969, retaining the name Marina.

In 1970 Marina operated between Rijeka-Cres-Rabac, followed by a Pula-Mali Losinj-Zadar service in 1971. Until disrupted by the civil wars in1991, Marina then operated on Pula-Porec-Venedig and Pula-Porec-Silba-Venedig. From 1994 Marina returned to service on Zadar-Silba-Mali Losinj-Pula-Venedig, followed by Zadar-Silba-Mali Losinj-Pula-Koper in 2003.
