Immingham (1906-1915)
Marylebone (1906-1932)

In 1906, the GCR built two new 18 knot steamers Immingham and Marylebone for the Grimsby-Rotterdam. Most of their ships were only capable of 13 knots or less, which was adequate for their leisurely overnight sailings. Immingham and Marylebone each received three direct drive turbines driving triple screws to achieve their high speed. They were not economic in this form, and were soon rebuilt as single-screw ships powered by a triple-expansion engine. At the same time, one of their funnels was removed.

Accrington (1910-1951)
Blackburn (1910-1910)
Bury (1910-1958)
Dewsbury (1910-1959)
Stockport (1911-1943)

Accrington, Blackburn, Bury, Dewsbury and Stockport were built in 1910/1911 for the Grimsby-Hamburg route. Blackburn was lost in her first year of service in a collision with the steamer Rock off Sheringham. In 1923, ownership of the remaining four ships passed to the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER). From 1934 management passed to the Associated Humber Lines (AHL) and one of the ships (often Dewsbury) operated the summer-only Hull-Zeebrugge service previously operated by the LYR/LMS with Duke of Clarence and Duke of Connaught. All four ships were used as convoy rescue ships during WW2, and Stockport was torpedoed and sunk off Iceland in 1943. The others returned to service after the war, and they were all scrapped in the 1950s. Accrington and Dewsbury served between Harwich-Antwerp after the war, whilst Bury served between Hull-Rotterdam.
