This page shows the arrivals and departures at Dover Eastern docks on the
afternoon of Friday 12th June 2009.
I arrived at Dover Castle at 13:00hrs on Friday 12th
June 2009, and the ferries in port were the Maersk Dunkerque,
Pride of Burgundy and SeaFrance Berlioz. I remained on the
Admiralty lookout until 17:10 when Berlioz returned again and
Burgundy was close.
I arrived at Dover Castle at 13:00hrs on
Friday 12th June 2009, and the ferries in port were the Maersk Dunkerque
(Berth 2), Pride of Burgundy (Berth 7) and SeaFrance Berlioz
(Berth 9). The reefer Horncap and chemical products tankers
Coralwater and Clipper Bordeaux were also in port. The first
shipping movement was the arrival of the Pride of Calais at 13:30. Pride of Calais
left again at 14:35.

As Pride of Calais was berthing at Berth 8,
SeaFrance Berlioz departed Berth 9 at 13:40.

SeaFrance Nord-pas-de-Calais
arrived
off Dover before the Pride of Calais (having arrived before her scheduled arrival time
of 14:00), but suffered a
failure in one of her main engines and aborted her port approach. She
circled off the Eastern Entrance and called for tug assistance - Dauntless was despatched. As
Dauntless arrived SeaFrance Nord-pas-de-Calais
entered the
port at 14:00. Her engine had been restarted but the tug remained on
stand-by as a precaution. Unfortunately Dauntless was not close enough to
SeaFrance Nord-pas-de-Calais to get
an image with them together.
