Panama - President Hoover - Regina - Regina Prima

Regina was built in 1939 as the Panama for the Panama Lines service from New York, via Haiti, carrying 216 first class passengers and cargo. She was sold to American President Lines in 1957, renamed the President Hoover, and put into service on a Pacific circuit from San Francisco. However, in 1962 she was replaced by the larger President Roosevelt (later to become the Chandris Atlantis). Chandris acquired the vessel in 1964, and added extra cabins in the cargo spaces, to carry a new total of 650 passengers. Regina cruised for Chandris from 1966 until1979, having been renamed Regina Prima in1972 to avoid confusion with the Regina Magna. She was finally scrapped in 1985.
