A´rosa was created by
P&O Princess
as an upmarket version of Aida for the German market. Initially,
Crown Princess
was transferred as the
Arosa Blu
. In a move to consolidate its German cruise business, Carnival Corporation announced in September 2003 that it was selling the river cruise business under the A´rosa trademark, to German travel operator Arkona. At the same time, Carnival places the
Arosa Blu
in the Aida-fleet as the
AIDAblu
.
